BY FAITH you can receive the free gift of Salvation.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8, 9
F stands for FORGIVENESS. We cannot have eternal life without God’s forgiveness.
Ephesians 1:7a says, “In Him (Jesus Christ) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.”
A is for AVAILABLE. Forgiveness is available for everyone!
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
I is for IMPOSSIBLE. It is impossible for God to allow sin into heaven because He is Holy.
Romans 3:23a tells us, “For all have sinned.”
T is for TURN. To turn means to repent. We can repent – or turn – from our sin.
Jesus said: “… unless you repent you will all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3b).
H is for HEAVEN. Jesus said: “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am” (John 14:3).
Receive the Free Gift of Salvation by Faith Today
ADMIT
You must admit that you are a sinner. This can be a difficult thing to do for many people, but it is the first step we all must take toward receiving the free gift of salvation God offers us.
“For all have sinned…” Romans 3:23a
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men for that all have sinned.” Romans 5:12
“If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.” I John 1:10
CONFESS
Now that you are in agreement with God that you are a sinner you must confess your sin openly to God.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9
BELIEVE
You must believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that, He died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead.
“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10:9, 10
REPENT
You must repent of your sins, the old lifestyle you have been living. When you repent it means that you are sorry that you have sinned against God. Repentance literally means to turn from a life of sin and begin a new life of obedience to God.
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” Acts 3:19
RECEIVE
The free gift of salvation is offered to you. Now you have to receive it willingly and thankfully. It’s impossible to receive a gift unless you take the step to accept it from the Giver. It’s time to invite Jesus into your heart. Receive Him as your personal Lord and Savior.
“Yet to all who receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12
What are the Consequences if You Refuse?
Revelation 14:10, 11 describe the final, eternal destiny of the person who refuses the free gift of salvation Jesus offers them. “He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone… the smoke of their torment ascended up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day or night.”
The Bible refers to the fate of those who refuse the free gift of salvation Jesus offers with such fearful words as the following:
“Shame and everlasting contempt” Daniel 12:2
“Everlasting punishment” Matthew 25:46
“Weeping and gnashing of teeth” Matthew 24:51
“Fire unquenchable” Luke 3:17
There are those who accept that hell is a place of punishment, but believe that the punishment is to be annihilated – to cease conscious existence. They can’t conceive that the punishment of the wicked will be conscious and eternal. However, Scripture paints a different story. The rich man who found himself in hell (Luke 16:19-31) was conscious. He was able to feel pain, to thirst, and to experience remorse. He wasn’t asleep in the grave; he was in a place of “torment.”
