PA background checks (PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting) required for all positions and volunteers. Background checks must be completed every two years while employed or volunteering at Oasis of Hope Ministries. Additional training will be provided as required by individual’s position or status. Resident Adviser Position

Job Description: The Resident Adviser provides daily care and guidance to the clients while living in the home with them. She is responsible for following the daily schedule assigned by the Program Director which may include house chores, meals, appointments with or for the clients, facilitating client small group or accountability sessions, pastoral care to the clients and more. She may also be asked to assist the Program Director with administrative tasks as needed. The Resident Adviser reports to the Program Director and President.

Qualifications: Due to the unique nature of this ministry, the Resident Adviser must be female and an evangelical Christ-follower who fully agrees with the Oasis of Hope Statement of Faith. She must be an organized, self-motivated and flexible individual. She must also have great communication skills, patience and be capable of dealing with difficult people and situations. The live-in Resident Adviser will sometimes be exposed to raw, emotionally intense situations requiring them to be able to think clearly and make quick decisions that will best support the needs of the clients in each unique situation. The ideal candidate will have training and/or experience working with women coming from abusive scenarios.

Location: North Central PA

Salary/Compensation: This is a full-time VOLUNTEER (missionary) position. Meals & lodging will be provided. Resident Advisers are responsible for their own financial support via donations and/or monthly support. Oasis of Hope will also assist & train the Resident Adviser in personal fundraising.

Internship Program

The internship program at Oasis of Hope house is an opportunity for students and young adults (women only) to acquire supervised practical ministry experience in the field of aftercare for survivors of human trafficking. This live-in program has a minimum of 3 month commitment where room and board is fully covered. If you are not interested in a live-in internship we can discuss live-out options. This may be the perfect internship experience for someone seeking their degree in Social Work, Human Services, or Psychology.

Volunteer Opportunities

Oasis of Hope is always looking for more volunteers. Regardless of your skills or interest, we can find a place for you! Time commitments range from occasional events to weekly volunteering. Ideas for how you could get involved include evening relief; weekend relief; life skills class instructor (curriculum is already written); other class instruction such as cooking, sewing, crafting, etc.; survivor mentor; help in the office; prayer warrior; fundraiser coordinator; or Bible study leader. We are open to hearing your ideas on volunteering as well. All volunteers must be over 18.
